It's AARON KAMPMAN days until we get married

Defensive players generally aren't glamorous, unless you're an especially slick cornerback or a loudmouthed linebacker. Defensive end Aaron Kampman doesn't qualify as slick, loudmouthed, or glamorous by any stretch of the imagination.

And that's just fine, because when it comes to great Packers defenders, Kampman is one of the best to lace up a set of cleats.

What he lacked in style, Kampman made up for in grit and hard work. He was nearly relentless in his pursuit of quarterbacks and ballcarriers, and while it may not have looked pretty, it was effective. He ended his time with the Packers fourth all-time on the Packers list of sack leaders with 54 (he's currently fifth), and he racked up two Pro Bowl trips for his trouble.

The end in Green Bay, however, wasn't great. The Packers switched from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4, forcing Kampman to make a position switch. He moved from his traditional end spot to outside linebacker, a move for which he was far from ideally suited.

Still, he soldiered, totaling 3.5 sacks in 2009 before a torn ACL ended his season. He signed with Jacksonville in the following off-season, but only managed eight games before another knee injury ended his year after eight games. He gave it one last go the following year, but hurt his knee again, and that basically ended his career.

But Kampan is a good guy, and is certainly not defined by football. He's a devout Christian (and very active with Fellowship of Christian Athletes or some similar organization) and he lives near his hometown in Iowa with his family.

Other notable 74's - Henry Jordan (Hall of Fame defensive tackle, 1959-1969), Marshall Newhouse (offensive lineman, 2011-2013)
